All the bad parts are taken out. The part where a father gets to hear that it is better to kill his child than to have a disobeying child, the piece where a man offers strangers his virgin daughters, the piece where girls have their father drink so much he passes out so they can have sex with him. The piece where king David orders all conquered men to be killed with saws and hammers, burned alive, all women raped, all girls captured and made into slaves or concubines... (this part you might need to read in the Jewish Bible, as the Christian one cleaned that up, too). After reading all this, it became clear to me I could no longer identify with it, certainly not after all churches closed due to a scamdemic !
I read the whole bible back in 2000, and do remember reading all that except for the part where King David gives those orders, but there were other scenes of such crimes in the bible, such as when Israel is first conquered by the Jews. That was all in the New International Version I think.
I was also very surprised to find Mary was not a virgin, having other sons.
we were told Jesus was her first child, but yes, somewhere it says that Jesus' mother and his siblings are waiting outside. They tried in school to dismiss that as 'hebrew has no word for cousins so they all call them brothers' but why would Mary not have children after her first! There is also quite some evidence still, although lot has been destroyed, that Mary was nowhere the silent, subdued character she is usually dipicted as, she was more like a priestess in the early church. there were also way more women than admitted, who served as priestesses. The later church 'fathers' have tried to weed all that out.
In 2021 the minute Joe was installed my mail man was replaced with a black mail man, my pharmacist was replaced with a black man, my local hospital replaced 80% of the techs, nurses and doctors with black, Hispanic and Gay.
I started getting emails from Walgreens with articles on systemic racism (which does not exist) and public health.
My polling locations were changed. No white people at all. All were either black and Hispanic men or black women. This year, they had one white woman around 9 black men and women. I'm a great grandmother and it was blatantly obvious DEI hires were in full swing. It's not a theory when i see it with my own eyes.
I've watched several major corporation make statements that they will not hire white men. Best Buy, Disney, walgreens, several pharmaceutical companies on zoom meetings. I see it in my neighborhood, only selling and renting to people of color, but I'm not suppose to notice or say anything.
Am I a racist? No. I remember in the 70's, 80's and 90's one could witness in our own communities there was no racism. I've had friends for years that are black, Hispanic, gay and we would meet and talk for hours and you know what never comes up. The fact that they are black, Hispanic, gay or heterosexual. It's absolutely ridiculous what I'm witnessing today. It's about dividing us so we won't see the blatant corruption, the stealing of our tax dollars, the sexualizaton of children, etc.
I see it too. I worked at Craigslist and was told the previous HR lady threw away all resumes from white men for years until the company caught on and fired her.
Up until 1968 the high school in my home town had an outdoor shooting range and a marksmanship team that won trophies quite often. There was enormous pressure in the Autumn of that year and the shooting range was removed and the team disbanded. This happened in a great many communities.
